Sooriyabandara began his senior domestic career with Sinhalese Sports Club and later represented Moors Sports Club in List A cricket. == Domestic career ==

Sooriyabandara began his domestic career with Sinhalese Sports Club. He made his first-class debut for the club in the 2018–19 Premier League Tournament on 7 December 2016.

His early involvement in first-class cricket provided him with experience in Sri Lanka's domestic red-ball competition and helped establish him within the country's wider domestic cricket system.
